Bistro of the Burbs!

OMG!  So it’s finally here!  The Bistro of the ‘Burbs event is this Friday evening.  There is supposed to be anywhere from 300-350 people attending which means I need to start cooking…well…like NOW! =]  I am still so honored to have been asked to be the only caterer at the event and really the only unknown among a bunch of big dog restaurants!  I hope to see some of my fellow Villa Park-ians out to support a great charity and your local restaurants/businesses.  And who doesn’t like an OPEN BAR!  Yep!  That is also included in the $65 price tag which also includes all you can eat at the vendors!  **Note:  the price will be $75 if you decide to slack and buy at the door!  So get over to Lombard Pharmacy and buy your tickets ahead of time! 

 

This is definitely going to be a Food Memory Making event that I will NEVER forget!  So nervous, excited…everything all rolled into one!  Gotta get cooking!

New Happenings!!!

Hey Foodielicious Fans!!  So A LOTTT has been going on over here since the last post!  We have been super busy with jobs and even have a HUGE charity event coming up on November 9th!  That event is called Bistro of the Burbs and is held at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace.  We were asked to be a part of it and we couldn’t be more thrilled!  We are going to be next to some big dogs (think: Holy Mackerel, Sweet Tomatoes, Miller’s Ale House, etc!!!) which is SUPER flattering!  Cannot wait!

We have jobs pretty much every weekend until the middle of November which makes it seem like we are really getting started!  I still can’t believe that my dream is finally becoming a reality with the whole catering/foodie world!  And a special thank you to everyone who is supporting us and has faith in us!

We’re Famous…Well…Sort Of!

The winners are finally up on the Dupage County Fair website, so now everyone can see that Foodielicious’ Roasted Potato Salad won first in the salad category! I cannot even describe the excitement I have that my name and recipe are out there for everyone to see! It was my first big win for Foodielicious and hopefully just the start to many more wins in the future!

Or we can simply drop off in catering trays with a minimal delivery charge (depending on location) or you can pick up.

Hey Honey Boo Boos!

Hi everyone! Was just feeling thankful this morning for all the good things that are going on here at Foodielicious. And when I was in the kitchen the other day making pot roast, it reminded me of when my love of food and cooking began. Just thought I would share.

Most of my earliest childhood memories came from a kitchen or around a table. (I guess I was always a foodie…even when it wasn’t cool.) I can still remember exactly how both my grandma’s houses would smell at the Holidays when they were making all the staples. I even came up with my pot roast recipe off of smell, I didn’t stop tweaking the recipe until my house smelled just like my Grandma Sabaj’s used to smell when she would make it. Mmmmmm…if I could turn that smell into a freaky pot roast candle…I would! That’s how much I love the aromatics that come off that slow cooked piece of heaven.

I started my cooking adventure at the ripe old age of 10 when I used to watch Sarah’s Secrets, Yan Can Cook and Julia Child re-runs. Yeah…cool kid over here! The very first thing I ever made from scratch was crepes and to this day, it is one of my favorite things to eat and make! Yum! My mom came home to a very cheesily garnished plate of crepes one day when she got home from work and looked both terrified (that I used the stove when she wasn’t home) and impressed. Then she tasted them and was pleasantly surprised that they were actually edible and not that bad. And that was it for me…waiting to see the look on her face and get her feedback, I was hooked! I wanted to make food for everyone and get their reaction. And just to make people smile, really.

I’ve really been cooking/baking ever since with TONS of mishaps and food tragedies but all those things have made me the confident woman in the kitchen I am today! Just thought I would share a bit of my back history to hopefully show everyone what Making Food Memories means to me. Hope you all have a great rest of your week!

All About August.

Wow…August is really panning out to be a busy and exciting month for Foodielicious! This upcoming weekend alone we have two birthday party jobs which we will be making the cake and other items as well. I am so excited to be able to make two people some amazingly delicious FL signature cakes to make some food memories for their special day! I am looking forward to many more busy weekends for us to come!

Dupage County Fair

Sooooo…I entered our Roasted Potato Salad in the Favorite Salad contest at the Dupage County Fair last weekend and amazingly it took FIRST! I was elated and overjoyed at the response I got from it all! It was a great day and I think I found a new obsession in food competitions!! Holla!
